Mexico Vacation Outfits
Planning for an upcoming trip to Cancun Mexico but aren’t sure which clothes you should pack? This clothing guide will give you the perfect starting point for what you should bring on a resort trip, a trip to Cancun, or even just for popping around different parts of Mexico and Isla de Las Mujeres.
I was so happy with my Mexico vacation outfits and wanted to share what I felt worked perfectly for each occasion and what felt good on! l personally love looking at Pinterest and blogs when it comes to vacation packing ideas so I wanted to share my own spin on Cancun outfit ideas and share outfit inspiration that I hadn’t seen.
These Cancun outfits and clothing guide covers what to pack for activities like catamaran excursions, exploring the area, swimming and beach cover ups, and everything in between. I personally am a cost-effective gal, so I wanted to share that the majority of these Cancun resort outfits are all budget-friendly and under $50 USD. All of these outfits easily fit in my carry on and even left space for more clothes and little mementos from my Mexico trip. I’m not an over packer so I always prioritize pieces that are fashionable yet versatile.

Mexico Vacation Outfit #1
When you’re catamaran cruising from Cancun to Isla de Las Mujeres you’ll want a cozy catamaran outfit that’s still a little classy. This striped oversized button-up paired with white linen pants felt so fun and coastal. Bonus points if you pair it with a cute bandana to hide the sea-salt hair you’ll have from swimming in the Caribbean.
Mexico Vacation Outfit #2
I absolutely adored this brown swirl bikini, not only was it cute but it was very breathable and had so many great reviews! I felt so confident in it, loved the color, and received so many compliments. If you’re looking for a fun new bikini that’s comfortable and unique, this is the friend for you!
Mexico Vacation Outfit #3
For your beach or resort dinners, this outfit was one of my favorites and my go-to. The Ralph Lauren paisley skirt is flowey and light (which is what you’ll want in a humid location) then paired with a square-neck tank top and a chunky silver bracelet, it gave a refreshing yet chic dinner-look.
Mexico Vacation Outfit #4
I loved this chic crochet dress, it’s very trendy and is the perfect elevated cover-up. It’s important to make sure that you have a bikini cover up skirt or dress if you’re staying in a resort. When you’re hopping from beach, to pool, to restaurant or cocktail hour, you’ll need to show less skin. I paired this dress with thin black sandals but the great thing is, you can dress it up or down for whatever style you’re going for.
Mexico Vacation Outfit #5
Of course we can’t forget outfits to pack for the athletic/ travel day(s). I haven’t seen many other travel bloggers talk about what to wear for the airport or a morning run. I packed this look and it would’ve been perfect for either, this was my travel back outfit but I saw so many people at the resort I was staying at wearing similar looks to this on a run with a sports bra and a cap. These tennis shoes are lightweight which felt amazing in the tropical heat then paired with a compression top and running shorts, it made a cozy flight look. Additionally, I recommend bringing along a fanny pack so that you can store all of your important documents, phone, and money right in front of you for easy access.
Mexico Vacation Outfit Accessories
The accessories that you should not go to any coastal destination without are a cowgirl hat and a classic pair of sunglasses. Not only does this add a personalized touch to each bikini or beach cover-up outfit, but it’s also fashionably providing an additional layer and further protection from the sun. Which is important—we want to have fun without having too much sun.
That concludes my Mexico vacation outfit roundup! 5 Cancun outfit ideas and accessories for different occasions during your trip. Hopefully you enjoyed this unique spin on beach and resort outfits and use it to plan for your next adventure.
Happy traveling and I hope to see you in my next post. Cheers!
